Predeterminism is the idea that all events are determined in advance. Predeterminism is the philosophy that all events of history, past, present and future, have been already decided or are already known (by God, fate, or some other force), including human actions.
Predestination, in theology, is the doctrine that all events have been willed by God, usually with reference to the eventual fate of the individual soul.
You have nothing in your hands. Any power you have comes to you from far beyond. Everything is fixed and you CAN’T change it.
Jesus answered [him], “You would have no power over me if it had not been given to you from above. For this reason the one who handed me over to you has the greater sin.”
According to Christians, God is Omnipotent (having unlimited power; able to do anything), Omniscient (all-knowing, all-wise, all-seeing), and Omnipresent (present everywhere at the same time). Then he should know what would happen, how things will turn out BEFORE they even occur. He controls our fate and everything in the universe – EVERYTHING.
Therefore, every SINGLE tragedy, disaster, war, sickness, disease, pain, suffering, joy, happiness, success, triumph, discovery, invention, including man’s own thoughts, actions, decisions, discoveries, inventions, etc. from the beginning of time, whether natural or “man-made” has been planned and created by God. Everything has been predetermined. If they were not, then it contradicts His Omniscient and Omnipresent.
We want to believe we have “Free Will” (see Free Will is an Illusion). In theology, we are taught that we are God’s “co-creators”. And that we are carrying out our own actions. But in fact, we are unknowingly executing God’s plans. The decisions and actions we think we are making and all events taking place in our lives are actually not of our own doing but are actually REVELATIONS of what God has planned and predetermined for us. His plans are being revealed through actions and decisions made by of every human being in this world.
